What can I do to prepare for the SEAoNY Conference?

Make the most of of your Conference experience! You can explore the app, add sessions to your personal Conference agenda, and connect with exhibitors and sponsors, all before you arrive at the Conference.

How do I access the Conference app on my mobile device?

Download the free Whova application from your mobile device on the App Store or Google Play.

  • Select ‘Sign Up/Sign In’ and enter the email address you used during registration.
  • If it is your first time using Whova, select “Sign up here." Enter the email address you used during registration and create a password;
  • If you've used Whova before, sign in using the email address you used during registration.
  • Select the event ‘SEAoNY 2024 Annual Conference’ to access the Conference app.

Do I have to pay to use Whova on my mobile device?

No - Whova is free to download and use.

When attempting to log in to Whova, it says that I am not registered for this event. How do I get access?

First, make sure you are logging in with the email address you used during conference registration. If you still cannot access the event, please contact the SEAoNY Office at admin@seaony.org or at 646-736-0694.

How do I view the Conference agenda?

When you open the event on the Whova app on your mobile phone, click Agenda at the bottom of your screen.

How do I ask a presenter a question during a session on the app?

Every session on the Whova agenda has a Q&A and chat box on the right side of the screen. You can post questions for presenters using the “Ask a question” button, and you can “upvote” other attendees’ questions to encourage presenters to answer them. In the chat area, you can connect with other attendees or post comments for everyone to see.

How do I ask a presenter a question after a session?

After a session ends, you can still ask the presenter questions. Just navigate back to the session page, scroll down to the speaker listing, and click Send Message. The presenter will be able to respond through the Whova platform. You can find all messages you send and receive under Messages either on the left navigation bar on your web browser or at the bottom of your screen on your phone.

How do I access the virtual booths for the exhibit hall?

When you open the event on the Whova app on your mobile phone, navigate to the Home page. Under Additional Resources, click Exhibitors.

Will there be networking?

Yes! In addition to our pre-scheduled breaks and the scheduled reception, Whova facilitates great networking opportunities on the mobile app. You can connect with other registrants, staff, sponsors, and exhibitors through an active community board, a virtual business card exchange, and private-message or chat with individual attendees. Click here for instructions on how to connect with other attendees at the Conference.

How can I see who else is attending the Conference?

On the navigation bar, on the left of your screen if you are attending on your web browser and at the bottom of your screen if you are attending on your phone, click Attendees. This will show you all of the speakers and attendees who will be joining NYSPA for the convention. You can also connect with attendees directly here by clicking on their profiles.

How do I join discussions in the Community Board?

When you open the event on the Whova app on your mobile phone:

  1. Click the Community tab (on the bottom of the screen)
  2. Create a new conversation topic, or tap the topic to join existing topics like “Meet-ups.”
  3. Click Follow directly next to the topics on the Community Board that you want to stay up to date with. To find the topics you’re following, choose between three tabs near the top of the page: All Topics, Followed, and New Topics.

How can I add a headshot and bio to my profile?

When you open the event on the Whova app on your mobile phone:

  1. At the top left corner of your screen, you will see a circle with your first initial in it. Click on that circle.
  2. A side bar will appear with your name at the top. Below your name, click on Edit My Profile.
  3. Here you will be able to add your headshot, update your bio, and add additional information to your profile.

How do I earn PDH credits at the SEAoNY Conference?

Attendees at the SEAoNY Conference can earn up to 7 hours of PDH credit. In order to earn PDH credit, attendees must be attendance for the entirety of a session. Partial credit for an individual session will not be awarded. Attendees will be scanned in at the beginning of the day and will be asked to sign out if they leave early.

In order to earn PDH credit, attendees will also be required to submit a Conference Evaluation at the end of the Conference.

What is the maximum amount of PDH credits available at the 2024 SEAoNY Conference?

Attendees can earn up to 7 PDH credit hours at the 2024 SEAoNY Annual Conference.

When can I expect my PDH certificate for the Conference?

PDH certificates will be sent out, pending all requirements are completed, no later than Thursday, February 22, 2024.

Will the Conference sessions be recorded?

No, Conference sessions will not be recorded.

Can I share presentation materials with other individuals?

No. Please note that the 2024 SEAoNY Conference is a closed meeting. All information shared, whether disclosed in a presentation or written form, is confidential. This confidential information should not be shared or disclosed with any third party, through personal communications or social media, nor should this confidential information be used for personal gain or benefit. Only attendees who have registered and been approved to attend the meeting will have access to these presentations and materials from presentations. Please do not reproduce or try to reproduce the information shared within the conference in any form.

I can no longer attend the Conference. Can I get a refund?

SEAoNY will accept refund requests made in writing no later than Wednesday, January 31, 2024. Registration fees are not refundable after this date.
