Elegance in Structure: From Idea to Inception…How does the process influence this Elegance?

May 14, 2018

6:15PM - 8:00PM

Center for Architecture, 536 LaGuardia Place

Presented By: Joe Tortorella

SEAoNY Honorary Member

"In my 39 years in the industry, much has changed (and much remains the same). I dare not list all the changes that have taken place. Two of the major changes that affect our work every day are technology and speed. In this presentation, I will discuss the changes in our industry that I believe, have put us at a greater risk for errors and potential failures. I will discuss the changes as they developed and the responses by our profession to these changes. I will introduce some case studies on what has gone wrong, and what can go very well. Lastly, I will propose and idea for moving forward for ALL projects in the future."
